It has built in wifi, but you have to check a box to automatically connect to your network otherwise when you reboot you have to connect again.
The menu system is nice and easy to navigate, you can update the firmware and channel lists without needing a usb stick. After 2 hours of playing with it and getting nowhere I relegated it to the kitchen and moved my old V8 into the main sitting area. Unfortuna tely I read the other reviews after I tried to work with the box.
Overall I would rate this 1 out of 5, it has a long way to go before it meets the requirements and flexibility of the V8S. You have to select Entertainment channels and select BBC2 and hit OK. Going from BBC1 to BBC2 for instance will not work by pressing up on the remote. Moving up and down channels is very hit and miss. Once the list comes down you then have to spend a long time reordering the channels dropping national channels for local ones which may or may not save correctly. The channel list is taken from key zones, UK, Spain, Portugal and default. There are benefits such as upgrades to the firmware etc over the network. Should you have any questions, please let us know in the comment section below. With the new version of the Openbox system you can no longer create your own favourite list. Imagine the M3U url you have received from your IPTV provider is the one below: Ĥ-After entering details, go down to Default and click OK on the remote controller. Note: This part is exactly like how we add IPTV values to GSE, Smarters or any other app which is using Xtream Codes API, but anyways, let's give a simple example here:
Then we need to add values of our M3U url to Hostname, Username and Password. It should appear then.ģ-Set type to XTREAMCODE. Note: If you do not have that option, click number 6 button on your remote controller four times. We're going to use Xtream Codes API and add details from the M3U url we have received from our IPTV provider.ġ-Once again go to NetCenter. Now it is time to add IPTV to our Openbox v9s. Boot up the box again and let's get into the next phase. Update will end in a system restart if all goes as expected. The percentage below usually stays at 0% and that's normal.Ĥ-Let the process goes on and keep your box powered on. Then move right to NetCenter and from choices on the left side, select Upgrade By Network.Ģ-In this pop-up window, you can see the current and latest released version. To make sure that our box is updated and also the required IPTV plugin is there, this step must be taken.ġ-Open up the main menu by pressing the Menu button on the remote controller. App interface will give you channel grouping, EPG and other nice features, much much better than having IPTV installed on Openbox v8s ) If you are using Openbox v9s, unlike it's older versions, it can run IPTV smoothly through IPTV apps it has built-in.
